Developed by the NDRI, the Environmental Risk Assessment Framework provides a structured approach for evaluating these contaminants and supporting scientifically informed management decisions. In this session, NDRI Program Director Renae Larsen will host co-authors Dr Darren Koppel (AIMS) and Dr Tom Cresswell (ANSTO), who will walk through the framework’s approach, key considerations, and practical application.
During this webinar the team will discuss:
- Environmental pathways and receptors associated with NORM and Mercury.
- Application of risk indicators and conceptual models to support overarching environmental assessments.
- An example of applying the framework to a fictitious contaminated piece of infrastructure.
- Ongoing research being conducted by AIMS and ANSTO to fill information gaps in the framework.
