The Operator Work Program (OWP) is a dedicated collaboration framework for operators, focused on addressing shared decommissioning challenges and opportunities. Delivered by CODA, the program provides a structured and secure environment for operators to work together on priority issues.

Overview

The OWP brings participating operators together through a coordinated work program designed to support more effective decommissioning outcomes.

Activities are shaped by participants and delivered through a flexible structure that enables operators to focus on the challenges most relevant to their assets and timelines.

Core areas of focus include:

  • Workgroups addressing technical, commercial, and operational challenges
  • Regulator engagement to support greater clarity and alignment
  • Activity forecasting to improve visibility of upcoming decommissioning work and support industry readiness

How it works

The program operates through a series of structured activities, with operators contributing to the identification and prioritisation of key issues.

CODA facilitates delivery, providing coordination, governance, and access to relevant expertise, while maintaining an independent and non-competitive collaboration environment.

Participation

The Operator Work Program is a distinct CODA partnership category, available to oil and gas title holders in Australia and adjacent jurisdictions who own production and/or processing facilities that will be subject to decommissioning requirements. Membership will be managed via a separate termed agreement with CODA.

Participants play an active role in shaping the program, including its focus areas, structure, and delivery.

Access to program activities and outputs is limited to participants, with broader engagement enabled selectively where appropriate.
